Você acha que para pintar umas paredes é sopa no mel. Você só escolhe a
cor e você só pinta a parede. Como eu falei no post anterior, não é tão moleza.
Quando estava escrevendo o post anterior, eu já tinha decidido que a
parede da sala de jantar seria verde. Isso ainda está acontecendo. Eu até achei
o exato tom de verde. Eu estava em dúvida entre três verdes: Limão Taiti, Mata
Atlântica e Floresta Temperada da Suvinil. ( Você tem que amar os nomes das
tintas. Tão poéticos! Até achei uma cor chamada Riqueza da Finlândia, um verde
escuro, frio e ártico) Eu estava buscando um verde esmeralda vibrante e Mata
Atlântica é mais perto do que tinha na minha mente então acabei selecionando
esta cor.

A sala de estar vai ser azul. Tenho uma relação estranha com esta cor. Sempre
odiei azul por toda minha vida, mas ultimamente para minha surpresa, estou
muito atraída à cor. Não todos os tons mas especificamente um azul escuro mas
vibrante. Como a cor do céu na pintura Noite Estrelada (Starry Night) do Van
Gogh. Eu vi uma parede azul escura na Casa Cor (exibição de interiores) do anopassado. A cor era muito boa. Essa cor fez um fundo ótimo para os móveis. As
cores parecem muito vibrantes e o branco muito fresco.
Isso é o que estou tentando fazer em nossa casa. Nós temos alguns móveis
de madeira e bege e espero que a parede azul refresque a aparência geral do
espaço. Espero também que o azul escuro dê um tchan e atitude à decoração que é
de outra forma muito neutral. A cor que selecionei é chamada Calça Jean
(Suvinil). Foi muito difícil escolher esta cor porque tinha dificuldade de
imaginar a cor na parede. Estou ainda me sentindo insegura com a seleção mas
decidi usá-la de qualquer jeito.

Nós temos umas cortinas retrôs muito marcantes em nosso quarto e elas
limitam bastante a seleção da cor. Eu amo estas cortinas e definitivamente
quero ficar com elas. Elas já são muito coloridas e não existe necessidade de
exagerar. Porque não deixá-las serem o ponto focal do quarto e pintar a parede
com alguma cor mais neutra? A cor que selecionei é chamada Lápis de Cor
(Suvinil). É um bege cinzento que tinha
sido muito popular já há muitos anos. Tenho que falar que esta cor foi uma decisão
racional e estou um pouco desapontada por ter feito uma escolha segura, mas
acho que a cor simplesmente faz sentido.

Depois de ter re-analisado o assunto de cor várias vezes, eu prometo que vou deixá-lo por
algum tempo. Acho que já matou todas as pessoas ao meu redor de tédio. Sinto
muito! Então, espero que seja bonita para que eu possa deixar minha obsessão
sobre o assunto e possa começar sobre algum outro.

shades of…
One would have thought that painting few
walls is a piece of cake. You just pick a color and you just paint a wall. As I mentioned in my previous post, it isn’t
that easy.
At the time of writing the previous post, I
had already decided that the dining area would be green. This still holds. I
even found the exact shade. For quite a while I was between three colors: Suvinil’s
Tahiti Lime, Atlantic Rainforest and Temperate Forrest. (Don’t you just love
the names of the paint colors. So poetic! There was even a color called the
Wealth of Finland, a dark cold arctic green.) What I was looking for was a
vibrant emerald green and Atlantic Rainforest is the closest to what I had in
mind so this is what I ended up selecting.

The living room wall will be blue. I have this weird relationship with this color. I’ve pretty much hated blue all my life, but lately to my own surprise I am very drawn to it. Not all the shades of it, but specifically a dark but vibrant blue. Like the sky from Van Gogh’s Starry Nights painting. I saw a really nice dark blue wall in last year’s “CasaCor” (an interior design show). The color was just great. It gave such a nice canvas for the furniture, the colors looked very vibrant and white looked very fresh against it.
This is what I try to replicate in our home. We have lots of warm wood and beige furniture and I am hoping that the blue wall will freshen the overall look of the space. I also hope that the dark blue will add some attitude to our otherwise neutral decor. The color I chose is called Blue Jeans (Suvinil). It was really difficult to choose the paint because I had hard time picturing it on the wall. I am still feeling a bit unsure of it, but decided to go with the color regardless.

The last of the walls we’ll paint is the
bedroom wall. One of our friends had painted her bedroom wall in beautiful
aubergine and ever since I have been dreaming of this color. Even though it
looked amazing in her flat the color just doesn’t fit in ours at this moment.
Or not in the bedroom at least.
We have very much statement retro curtains
in our bedroom and they limit the color selection quite a lot. I love those
curtains and definitely want hold on to them. They are already colorful so I thought there isn’t really a need to over do it. Why not let them be the focal
point of the room and paint the wall in something more neutral. The color I
chose is called Coloring Pencil (Suvinil). It is a classic grey-beige or
“greige” that has been so popular over many years already. I have to say that
this was a rational choice and I am slightly disappointed for going for the
safe bet, but I think the color simply makes sense.

After over analysing the topic of color, I
promise I will drop it for at least for a while. I have pretty much bored everyone
in my surroundings to death. Sorry for that! I really hope it will look good so I can
stop obsessing about this and can start obsessing about something else.
